Privacy policy

Fold the Stars collects anonymous diagnostics and nothing else. There is no account and no server of ours: your profile stays on your iPhone, and local play runs directly between phones.

Crash reports and usage data. To find and fix crashes, and to see how the game is played so we can balance it, the app sends anonymous crash reports (what went wrong, the device model and iOS version, and which screens were open before the crash) and, when enabled, anonymous usage data (which sectors are flown and which screens are used — never what you type). This data is not linked to you: it carries no name, no account, no device identifier and no location, and we do not store your IP address. It is processed on our behalf in the United States by Functional Software, Inc. (Sentry) and PostHog, Inc., is deleted after at most 90 days, and is never sold or used for advertising.

Your choice. You can turn diagnostics off at any time in Settings → PRIVACY; nothing more is sent from that moment. There is no advertising and no tracking in the app.

What stays on your device. Your profile — coins, ships, banked cargo, statistics, rank, settings and story progress — is stored only on your iPhone. If you delete the app, it is gone. If you choose to sign in to Game Center, Apple's service identifies you to the app by a game‑specific player ID and alias; the app keeps those on the device as the key to your profile and sends them nowhere — not even in a crash report.

Local play. When you host or join a local match, your phone exchanges game inputs, world snapshots, your chosen display name, your level and your handling settings directly with the other phones over an encrypted MultipeerConnectivity session. Nothing passes through us, because there is nothing of ours for it to pass through.

Permissions. The app asks for local‑network access only when you open Local Play, and uses it only to find nearby players.

Children. The app is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
